I've Got A Question

I'm glad you asked! Let me show you...keep scrolling

What do you mean by cake layers and cake tiers?

What is a double barrel cake?

What is fondue (Fondant)?

How big or small should my cake be to accommodate the amount of people I'm serving?

Cake Anatomy

This cake is made up of two tiers. Each tier consists of three layers of cake (yellow), and the layers are separated by the filling (pink).

Double Barrel

This is what you would call a double barrel cake. It consists of two tiers, but both tiers are equal in size. It is constructed to seem as though it is just one tall cake.

Fondant, not fondue!

To me, fondant is a lot like clay or play-doh. It's made out of marshmallows so you can definitely eat it. Marshmallows are a bit too sweet for me, so I usually just peel it off. Buttttt, if you like it, Eat Up! Cake decorators mainly use fondant to cover the cake and make it look pretty. It's so versatile that you can use it to create just about anything! Check out this sweet baby shower cake I made using white, green, and brown fondant.
